Politeness Strategies in Computer Mediated Communication (CMC): An Issue of University Professors and Students.

This paper examines the politeness theory in light of Austin & Searle’s speech act as reflected CMC between students and their lecturers or supervisors. Thus aspects were analyzed enacted five categories such as: Assertives, commisives, directives, expressives, declaratives. The also examined other language that are usually present any form communication, Address phrases, meeting requests, request for reply, adjunct phrases. objective this article was to shed on strategies employed by e-communication through Whatsapp SMS (short messages text messages) platforms. Fifty communications downloaded from lecturers’ phones permission students’, which used data study. Five seven postgraduate made population findings indicated seem be comfortable using mode it is important understand how make choices these affect perception cultural appropriateness CMCs. results revealed elements greatly decrease follow-up messages, is, require some kind response.
